Ariana DeBose to host 2022 Tony Awards
DeBose won an Oscar earlier this year for playing Anita in the West Side Story film.
DeBose is DeHost! Academy Award winner and Tony nominee Ariana DeBose is set to host this year's Tony Awards ceremony. The ceremony will take place at Radio City Music Hall on June 12 and will be broadcast on CBS. Learn more about how to watch the Tony Awards.
DeBose was previously nominated for the Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony Award in 2018 for playing Disco Donna in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. She's also appeared on Broadway in Hamilton, Bring It On the Musical, and A Bronx Tale.
She has since established a screen career as well, starring in the movie musical The Prom and musical TV series Schmigadoon! In 2022, DeBose won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for playing Anita in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story.
This will be DeBose's first time hosting the Tonys, but not her first hosting gig — she hosted Saturday Night Live in January and hosted the 2021 Academy Awards red carpet pre-show for ABC.
