Ariana DeBose to host 2023 Tony Awards
The Academy Award-winning West Side Story and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical actress returns to host the Tony Awards ceremony after first doing so in 2022.
She's back! Ariana DeBose will host the Tony Awards ceremony for the second year in a row. DeBose also hosted the 2022 Tonys ceremony, marking her first time as the awards' host.
In 2022, DeBose won the Oscar, BAFTA, Critics Choice, and SAG Awards for starring as Anita in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story movie musical. She's also starred in the movie musical adaptation of The Prom and the musical TV show Schmigadoon!, and in Broadway musicals such as Summer: The Donna Summer Musical (earning a Tony nomination for playing the title role) and Hamilton.
Additionally, Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect, Little Shop of Horrors) and Julianne Hough (Dancing With the Stars, POTUS) will host The Tony Awards, Act One, a pre-show special airing on Pluto TV from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The Tony Awards celebrate the best of Broadway theatre each year. The 2023 ceremony, honoring productions from the 2022-23 season, will take place on Sunday, June 11 at the United Palace. The main broadcast will air on CBS and Paramount+ from 8-11 p.m.
