Daniel's Husband will transfer to off-Broadway's Westside Theatre
Daniel's Husband begins performances at Westside Theatre Upstairs on October 18, 2018.
Following its New York premiere engagement, courtesy of Primary Stages, from March to April 2017 at the Cherry Lane Theatre, Michael McKeever's drama Daniel's Husband will transfer to the Westside Theatre this fall for an open-ended off-Broadway engagement. Previews begin at Westside Theatre Upstairs on October 18, 2018, before an official opening on October 28.
The entire Primary Stages cast will return for the production, including Ryan Spahn (as Daniel), Matthew Montelongo (as Mitchell), Lou Liberatore (as Barry), Anna Holbrook (as Lydia), and Leland Wheeler (as Trip).
Synopsis: "Daniel's Husband is a contemporary American play about two men - the personification of the perfect couple - who happen to have conflicting views of relationships. A turn of events forces them to face the consequences of their differences, and they learn that they are living in a world where fundamental rights aren't always so fundamental."
Under the direction of Joe Brancato, the creative team features scenic design by Brian Prather, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, and sound design by William Neal.
Daniel's Husband is produced off-Broadway by Ted Snowdon, who commented: "We are so lucky to be able to bring back our five original cast members, the perfect ensemble for this smart, romantic and provocative new play. We are also fortunate to have the ideal intimate space for Daniel's Husband, the Westside Upstairs. As well, we have added new elements - both design and dramaturgical - that expand the production's striking vision since its debut over a year ago."
