The Broadway cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony Award-winning smash hit musical Hamilton welcomes two new principals at the Richard Rodgers Theatre tonight. Three-time Tony nominee Brian d'Arcy James returns to the role of King George III - the role he originated in the Public Theater premiere in 2015 - and Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart takes on the dual roles of Marques de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson. James and Iglehart assume their respective roles from "Saturday Night Live" favorite Taran Killam and Seth Stewart, respectively.

Brian d'Arcy James earned Tony nominations for his most recent Broadway performance in 'Something Rotten!' (2015), as well as 'Shrek the Musical' (2009) and 'Sweet Smell of Success' (2002). Other Broadway credits include 'Macbeth,' 'Time Stands Still,' 'Next To Normal,' 'The Apple Tree,' 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore,' 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,' 'Titanic,' 'Carousel,' and 'Blood Brothers.' He also appeared in the NBC series 'Smash' as Frank Houston and in the Oscar-winning movie "Spotlight" as Matt Carroll.

James Monroe Iglehart won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his current role as Genie in 'Aladdin' in 2014. He made his Broadway debut in 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee' in 2007 and went on to originate the role of Bobby in 'Memphis' in 2009. His screen credits include "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," "Gotham" and the upcoming film "The Three Christs of Ypsilanti."

The current cast of Hamilton includes Javier Muñoz (Alexander Hamilton), two-time Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (Aaron Burr), Lexi Lawson (Eliza Hamilton), Mandy Gonzalez (Angelica Schuyler), Bryan Terrell Clark (George Washington), Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart (Marques de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Anthony Lee Medina (John Laurens/Phillip Hamilton), J. Quinton Johnson (James Madison/Hercules Mulligan), Alysha Deslorieux (Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds), and three-time Tony nominee Brian d'Arcy James (King George).

The Broadway production of Hamilton officially opened on August 6, 2015 to excellent reviews, following previews from July 13, and is currently booking through to March 4, 2018.

Hamilton features a book, music, and lyrics by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, and is inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow.

Synopsis: "Hamilton is a new musical about the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America: Alexander Hamilton. From bastard orphan to Washington's right hand man, rebel to war hero, loving husband caught in the country's first sex scandal to Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy, Hamilton is an exploration of a political mastermind. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton, and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe, Aaron Burr, all attend this revolutionary tale of America's fiery past told through the sounds of the ever-changing nation we've become."

Hamilton is directed by Thomas Kail, with music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.

Hamilton is produced on Broadway by The Public Theater, Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs and Jill Furman.
