DISASTER! announces new cast members

The musical comedy Disaster! has announced that Max Crumm and David Hibbard will join the previously announced Judy Gold as new cast members.

Max Crumm, winner of the TV reality television series "Grease: You're the One That I Want!" and subsequently starred on Broadway as 'Danny Zuko' in the 2007 revival of 'Grease,' will assume the role of 'Scott' on 14 Feb 2014, replacing original cast member Robb Sapp.

David Hibbard, previously seen on Broadway in 'Elf,' 'Billy Elliot,' 'Spamalot,' 'A Class Act,' 'Once Upon a Mattress' and 'Cats,' will assume the role of casino owner 'Tony Delvecchio' on 04 Feb 2014, replacing Jack Plotnic

As previously reported award-winning comedian, writer and actress Judy Gold, currently seen on the reality series "Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-off," and known for her Off-Broadway shows 'The Judy Show - My Life as a Sitcom' and '25 Questions for a Jewish Mother,' will assume the role of from 10 Feb 2014, replaing Annie Golden.

Directed by Jack Plotnick, choreographed by Denis Jones, with music direction by Larry Pressgrove, the cast of Disaster! also features Tom Riis Farrell (Maury), Jennifer Simard (Sister Mary), Seth Rudetsky (Ted), Sherz Aletaha, Ashanti J'Aria, Haven Burton (Marianne), Charity Dawson (Levora), Jack Plotnick (Tony), b>Saum Eskandani, Matt Farcher (Chad), Drew Geraci, Maggie McDowell, Rob Sapp (Scott) and Jonah Verdon (Ben/Lisa).

Disaster! opened at St Luke's Theatre on 04 Nov 2013, following previews from 14 Oct 2013, and is currently booking through to 31 Mar 2014.

Disaster! is a musical based on 1970's disaster movies with a score consisting of 1970's pop, rock and disco hit songs: 'Hot Stuff,' 'I Am Woman,' 'Knock On Wood,' 'Daybreak,' 'Signed, Sealed Delivered' and more!.

The year is 1979. All the hottest New York City A-Listers are putting on their platform shoes and polyester disco shirts and heading to the grand opening of Manhattan's first floating casino and discotheque. Little do they know that the pier built to house the huge boat was drilled into the center of a dangerous and unstable fault-line. Earthquake, tidal wave, infernos, killer bees, rats, sharks and piranhas all threaten the guests. Who will survive? The greedy tycoon? The aging showgirl and her 11-year-old twins? The washed-up disco star? The disaster expert still mourning the loss of his wife? The nun with the gambling addiction? The older couple with a terrible secret? And will the bra-burning feminist find love with the man who's lost his dreams?
