Elizabeth Rodriguez to star in world premiere of Halfway Bitches Go Straight to Heaven
The full cast has now been announced for the world premiere, which will play a limited engagement to December 22, 2019.
Atlantic Theater Company has announced the full cast of Halfway Bitches Go Straight to Heaven, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis. The production is set to begin previews at the Linda Gross Theater on November 14, 2019, ahead of an official opening on December 9, and will run through December 22, 2019.
The full cast stars Elizabeth Rodriguez as Miss Rivera, best known for starring in "Orange is the New Black" as Aleida Diaz, with Broadway credits including The Motherfu**er with the Hat.
The cast is completed by Victor Almanzar (as Joey Fresco), David Anzuelo (Father Miguel), Elizabeth Canavan (as Rockaway Rosie), Sean Carvajal (as Mateo), Patrice Johnson Chevannes (Wanda Wheels), Molly Collier (as Jennifer), Liza Colón-Zayas (as Sarge), Esteban Andres Cruz (as Venus Ramirez), Greg Keller (as Vinny/Councilman Rivera), Wilemina Olivia-Garcia (Happy Meal Sonia), Kristina Poe (as Betty Woods), Neil Tyrone Pritchard (as Mr. Mobo), Andrea Syglowski (as Bella), Benja Kay Thomas (as Peaches), Viviana Valeria (Taina), Pernell Walker (as Munchies), and Kara Young (as As Cast).
Synopsis: "Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis takes his style to another level in this world premiere play about the harrowing, humorous, and heartbreaking inner workings of a women's halfway house in New York City."
The creative team features direction by John Ortiz, alongside scenic design by Narelle Sissons, costume design by Alexis Forte, lighting design by M.L. Geiger and sound design by Elisheba Ittoop.
