Fat Pig: Ashton Kutcher may make his Broadway debut in Neil LaBute's play

The New York Daily News reports that Ashton Kutcher, best known for playing 'Michael Kelso' in the FOX sitcom 'That '70s Show,' may make his Broadway debut playing the role of 'Tom' in the Broadway premiere of Neil LaBute's 'Fat Pig.'

According to the paper, Fat Pig, to be directed by LaBute, will arive on Broadway later this year.

Fat Pig is about a good looking guy named 'Tom' who is mocked merciless by his friends when they discover he is dating 'Helen,' a bright, funny, sexy young woman who happens to be 'generously proportioned.' Forced to explain his new relationship to his shallow friends, Tom finally comes to terms with his own preconceptions of the importance of conventional good looks.

Fat Pig is the second in a trilogy of plays that began with 'The Shape of Things' and concluded with 'reasons to be pretty.'

Fat Pig was produced Off-Broadway by MCC in 2004, starring Jeremy Piven as 'Tom' and directed by Jo Bonney. It recently played an extended run, directed by Neil LaBute, in London's West End, playing at Trafalgar Studios 1 from 16 May - 6 Sep 2008 before transferring to the Comedy Theatre, where it ran from 11 May - 29 Nov 2008.

Ashton Kutcher's film credits include: 'Dude, Where's My Car?' 'Just Married,' 'The Butterfly Effect,' 'The Guardian' and 'What Happens in Vegas.' He is married to actress Demi Moore.

Neil LaBute's plays include 'In a Dark Dark House,' 'Wrecks,' 'Some Girl(s),' 'This Is How It Goes,' 'Fat Pig,' 'The Distance From Here,' 'The Mercy Seat,' 'The Shape of Things.' His play "reasons to be pretty' recently closed on Broadway - and marked the author's Broadway debut. Four of LaBute's plays have been produced in London's West End: 'In a Dark Dark House,' 'The Shape of Things' 'Some Girls' and 'This Is How It Goes.'
