Great Catherine/Annajanska at the Players Club

Gingold Theatrical Group's Pooject Shaw presents a play reading of Great Catherine/Annajanska, two one-acts by George Bernard Shaw, at The Players Club on 23 Jun 2008.

Great Catherine: A dissolute Russian prince, does his best to maneuver his way around Great Catherine, Russia's most infamous Empress, while a shy British Emissary tries to convey news about the newly begun American Revolution.

Annajanska takes us to the dawn of the Russian Revolution. While the huge Russian Empire is crumbling, a surviving member of the royal family does her best to convince the doubting General in charge that she actually wants to join the revolutionary cause.

Directed by David Staller, Great Catherine/Annajanska features Tyne Daly, John Cullum, Alison Fraser, Tony Yazbeck, Matthew Arkin, Nick Wyman, Liz Morton and Ashley Wren Collins.

Project Shaw is Gingold Theatrical Group's on going project to present to New York audiences every sketch, full-length and one-act play written by George Bernard Shaw.
