Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster to star in ‘The Music Man’ Broadway revival
Performances will begin at the Winter Garden Theatre from December 20.
The Broadway revival of The Music Man will finally open this year, starring Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster. The Music Man will begin previews at Winter Garden Theatre from December 20, with an opening night on Feb. 10, 2022. Find out more about The Music Man tickets on Broadway here.
The Music Man performances are currently scheduled at Winter Garden Theatre through to July 31, 2022.
A Tony Award-winning cast form the principal cast of The Music Man .Hugh Jackman will play Professor Harold Hill in The Music Man, with Sutton Foster as Marian Paroo, Jayne Houdyshell as Mrs. Shinn, Jefferson Mays as Mayor Shinn, Marie Mullen as Mrs. Paroo and Shuler Hensley as Marcellus Washburn. The principal cast also includes Remy Auberjonois as Charlie Cowell, Gino Cosculluela as Tommy Djilas, and Emma Crow as Zaneeta Shinn.
The 1950s musical follows Harold Hill, a conman that poses as a musician to sell instruments and turn communities into bands. His plan doesn't go quite right when he falls in love with Marian, a librarian and teacher who sees through his scam.
Jerry Zaks will direct The Music Man and choreography is by Warren Carlyle. The Hello, Dolly! creative team will reunite for The Music Man, including scenic and costume design by Santo Loquasto, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt and sound design by Scott Lehrer. Kate Horton has been named executive producer of The Music Man, overseeing the production.
The Music Man is at Winter Garden Theatre from Dec. 20, 2021.
