‘Letters of Suresh’ names full casting for Off-Broadway premiere
'Letters of Suresh' is at Second Stage Theater from September 14.
The quartet of actors to star in the Off-Broadway premiere of Rajiv Joseph's Letters of Suresh has been named. Letters of Suresh begins previews at Second Stage Theater's Tony Kiser Theater from September 14, with an opening night on October 4 and performances to October 24. Letters of Suresh tickets are on sale now.
The cast includes Ali Ahn, who has starred in plays such as The Heidi Chronicles on Broadway and The Great Leap at Atlantic Theater Company. Thom Sesma also stars, returning to the stage after being in Unknown Soldier at Playwrights Horizons at the time of the theatre shutdown in March 2020. Ramiz Monsef and The Coast of Utopia's Kellie Overbey complete the cast.
Letters of Suresh will explore what it means to make human connection, as individuals seek hope in a time of war. Letters of Suresh is a companion piece to Animals Out of Paper, which was presented at Second Stage Theater in 2008.
May Adrales will direct Letters of Suresh, joining a creative team including scenic design by Mikiko Suzuki MacAdams, costume design by Amy Clark, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, sound design and original music by Charles Coes and Nathan A. Roberts.
