'Pilgrims' at the Medicine Show Theatre
The Babel Theatre Project present the world premiere of Jamie Carmichael�s Pilgrims, opening at The Medicine Show Theatre on the 14 Jul 2005, following previews from the 8 Jul. The play is running through to the 29 Jul 2005.
Dealing with love and loss are the issues at the center of Jamie Carmichael�s newest play Pilgrims. Following a group of young people trying to find their way in a difficult world, the play explores the intense human desire to be needed and devastating consequences that come to pass when that sense of need is not satisfied.
The cast, directed by Geordie Broadwater, includes: Rufus Tureen, Emily Young, Eric Murdoch and Catherine Gowl.
Pilgrims has set design by Melissa Goldman, costumes by Meredith James, lighting by Joshua Randall and sound by Anthony Gabrielle. The show ois produced by Jeremy Blocker.
Biographies:
Jamie Carmichael (playwright) is a member of the Royal Court Young Writer�s Programme, and graduate of its Advanced Invitational Workshop. Theatre credits include: 'Eddystone' (dir: Femi Elufowoju, Jnr., Royal Court Theatre, 2003), 'Laundry' (dir.: Vicky Jones, Three Short Plays TC, London, 2004), T'he Gospel According to St. Thomas' (Trilogy Theatre, NYC, 2002), 'Odeon' (Loeb Experimental Theater, Cambridge MA, 2001).
Geordie Broadwater (director) directing credits include: 'The Moliere Impromptu' by Rinne Groff (Trinity Repertory Theater, Providence, RI, 2005) 'Temptation' by Vaclav Havel (Loeb Drama Center Mainstage, Cambridge, MA, 2003), 'Conduct of Life' by Maria Irene Fornes (Loeb Drama Center Experimental Theater, 2003), 'Baal' by Bertolt Brecht (Loeb Drama Center Experimental Theater, 2002).
