‘Plaza Suite’ starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick sets 2022 dates
Performances will begin at the Hudson Theatre in spring 2022.
The Broadway revival of Plaza Suite, starring real-life couple Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick will open in spring 2022. Plaza Suite begins previews at the Hudson Theatre from Feb. 25, 2022, ahead of an opening night on Mar. 28, 2022. Plaza Suite tickets are on sale now.
Plaza Suite was originally scheduled to run in spring 2020, but was forced to cancel its run the day before its first preview. In a statement, Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker said, "We're overjoyed to finally be able to welcome Broadway audiences to the Hudson Theatre to see Neil Simon's celebration of New York, New Yorkers, and the wonderful ways they fall in love. We simply can't wait."
Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker will play three couples in Neil Simon's comedy play, first seen on Broadway in 1968.
Jessica Parker is best known for playing Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, but has theatre credits including The Commons of Pensacola and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying alongside her husband, Broderick. Broderick is best known for starring in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but was also in the original Broadway cast of The Producers.
John Benjamin Hickey will direct Plaza Suite; previously starring in The Inheritance at the Barrymore Theatre.The design team includes scenic design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt and sound design by Scott Lehrer.
Plaza Suite is at the Hudson Theatre from Feb. 25, 2022.
