The Fantasticks sets closing date of June 4, 2017

Producers of off-Broadway's long-running musical The Fantasticks have now posted a closing notice for June 4, 2017, at The Theater Center's Jerry Orbach Theater. After an unprecedented run of 57 years, upon closing the show will have played a total of 21,552 performances in New York City.

The Fantasticks is a modern twist on Romeo and Juliet featuring music by Harvey Schmidt, and book, lyrics, and direction by Tom Jones. It follows a boy and girl who are tricked by their parents to fall in love and then quickly grow apart when they realize they want to experience the world. The score features standards such as 'Try to Remember,' 'They Were You,' and 'Soon It's Gonna Rain.'

The cast of The Fantasticks currently includes Bradley Dean (The Narrator - El Gallo), Nathan Goodrich (The Boy - Matt), Emily Behny (The Girl - Luisa), Dan Sharkey (The Boy's Father - Hucklebee), Dale Hensley (The Girl's Father - Bellomy), MacIntyre Dixon (The Old Actor - Henry), Michael Nostrand (The Man Who Dies - Mortimer), and Aaron Wright (The Mute), with Scott Willis, John Thomas Waite, and Samantha Bruce.

The creative team behind The Fantasticks features choreography by Janet Watson, scenic and costume design by Ed Wittstein, lighting design by Mary Jo Dondlinger and sound design by Domonic Sack.

The Fantasticks is produced off-Broadway by Al Parinello and Catherine Russell.
