2020 Tony Award winners announced
See all the shows, creators, and actors that took home prizes at this year's Tony Awards ceremony.
Broadway's biggest night is officially here! After being delayed for 15 months, the 74th annual Tony Awards ceremony took place September 26 at the Winter Garden Theatre, celebrating the best of the 2019-2020 theatre season.
A total of 18 shows were eligible for Tony Awards this year, fewer than usual due to the 2020 Broadway shutdown, which shortened the theatre season. That didn't stop multiple shows from receiving plenty of accolades, however: At 15 nominations, Jagged Little Pill received the most of any musical, while Slave Play became the most-nominated play with 12 nods.
Below are all the nominees in each category. Tony winners in each category will be denoted in bold.
In addition to the honorees listed below, the Broadway Advocacy Coalition, David Byrne and American Utopia, and Freestyle Love Supreme all received special Tony Awards, and Julie Halston received the Isabelle Stevenson Award for her work with the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
