Nick Jonas to play Frankie Valli in ‘Jersey Boys’
A streamed version of the Frankie Valli musical is in the works.
Nick Jonas is set to play Frankie Valli in a new production of Jersey Boys. In an article from Deadline, Jersey Boys will be available to stream worldwide, and is anticipated to be a landmark event.
Jonas will play Valli, returning to Broadway for the first time since 2012. Best known as part of chart-topping band Jonas Brothers, he's also a solo artist with tracks including "Jealous." His recent theatre credits include How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying as J. Pierrepoint Finch and Marius in the 25th anniversary concert of Les Miserables in London.
Jersey Boys dramatizes the lives of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, documenting how they became global artists. Songs include "Sherry", "Oh What A Night" and "Walk Like A Man." Currently, performances of Jersey Boys are suspended at New World Stages, playing off-Broadway after over 4,500 performances at the August Wilson Theatre.
The Four Seasons lineup is completed by Matt Bogart as Nick Massi, Andy Karl as Tommy DeVito and CJ Pawlikowski as Bob Gaudio. Full casting is to be announced, as well as a streaming date and information on how to view the event.
