Tina Fey to host ‘Best of Broadway’ concert on NBC
The star-studded line up includes the cast of Jagged Little Pill and Mean Girls.
UPDATE: More performers have been confirmed to join the NBC benefit. Barbra Streisand will take part, as well as Antonio Banderas and the Spanish cast of A Chorus Line. Sutton Foster will sing, as well as Six's Brittney Mack, Mrs Doubtfire's Rob McClure and Mary-Louise Parker.
Tina Fey will host a musical theatre concert next month on NBC, raising money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fight AIDS. Shows taking part in One Night Only: The Best of Broadway have been announced, as well as actors who'll appear in the benefit special, which will air on December 10.
Ahead of hosting the event, Fey said: "I'm so happy to be a part of this night, raising money for Broadway Cares, and to watch these mega talented people do what they do best." She was joined by Executive Vice President of Special Programs of NBC Entertainment Doug Vaughan, who said: "With Broadway being crippled by current events, it's never been more vital to showcase these incredible performers and remind audiences of their extraordinary talents for when they return to the stage.
Productions taking part include Mean Girls, written by Fey herself. There'll also be special performances from Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations, Chicago, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Jagged Little Pill and Jersey Boys. The event will also showcase upcoming productions including Diana: The Musical and a tribute to Rent.
As well as companies in the aforementioned shows, the concert will also feature performances from Kelly Clarkson, Brett Eldredge, Patti LaBelle and appearances from Annaleigh Ashford, Lance Bass, Kristen Bell, Ron Cephas Jones, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Peter Gallagher, Josh Groban, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sean Hayes, Nathan Lane, Camryn Manheim, Alanis Morissette, Jerry O'Connell, Leslie Odom Jr., Billy Porter, John Stamos, Aaron Tveit, Blair Underwood, Vanessa Williams and Susan Kelechi Watson.
One Night Only: The Best Of Broadway will air on NBC on December 10.
