2023 Tony Awards performances announced: 'Some Like It Hot,' 'Kimberly Akimbo,' and more
The 76th annual Tony Awards ceremony will feature performances from the casts of the Tony-nominated musicals, plus A Beautiful Noise, Funny Girl, and more.
The 76th annual Tony Awards, taking place on June 11, will feature performances from the casts of the musicals nominated for Best Musical and Best Musical Revival, including Camelot, Into The Woods, & Juliet, Kimberly Akimbo, New York, New York, Parade, Shucked, Some Like It Hot, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
“This year’s Tony Award nominees are a reflection of a tremendous year of Broadway,” said Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League, and Heather Hitchens, President and CEO of the American Theatre Wing, in a joint statement. “The show will feature performances by Broadway’s brightest lights — from breakthrough performers to industry icons — in recognition of the momentous productions wowing audiences worldwide.”
Joaquina Kalukango, who won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical in 2022 for Paradise Square, will perform. The telecast will also showcase performances from the casts of A Beautiful Noise and last season's Funny Girl. In addition, the awards ceremony will feature a special performance in honor of the Tony Awards for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre recipients Joel Grey and John Kander.
