Complete casting of Straight at Theatre Row's Acorn
Complete casting of the world premiere of Scott Elmegreen and Drew Fornarola's new play Straight, directed by Andy Sandberg, has now been announced. Jenna Gavigan (Emily) joins previously announced cast members Jake Epstein (Ben) and Thomas E. Sullivan (Chris).
Straight will begin previews at Theatre Row's Acorn Theatre on 9 February 2016, before an official opening on 29 February and a limited run through to 8 May 2016.
Synopsis: "Meet Ben. Ben is a 26-year-old investment banker. Ben likes beer, sports, and Emily. And Chris. Funny, sad, sexy, and surprising, this three-character drama meditates on fidelity, identity, and the moral complex of a generation that prides itself on the pretense of acceptance."
The creative team for Straight has also been announced features scenic design by Charlie Corcoran, costume design by Michael McDonald, and lighting design by Grant Yeager.
Straight is produced off-Broadway by Straight Productions LLC, Caiola Productions, and Harrison Chad.
Jake Epstein originated the role of Gerry Goffin in Broadway's 'Beautiful - The Carol King Musical' and also starred as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 'Spider-Man - Turn Off the Dark.' He is also known for his TV role as Craig Manning on "Degrassi." Other stage credits include the national tours of 'Spring Awakening' (as Melchior), Green Day's 'American idiot' (as Will) and 'Billy Elliot - The Musical' (as Tony).
Thomas E. Sullivan is making his off-Broadway debut. His recent stage credits include 'The Mormon Bird Play' (NY Fringe), 'Die Kleinen' (Access Theatre), and 'Cowboy Mouth.' (Young Artists at the Chelsea).
Jenna Gavigan previously appeared on Broadway in the Bernadette Peters-led revival of 'Gypsy.' She also appeared in 'Come Back, Little Sheba' at Los Angeles' Kirk Douglas Theatre.
