Mary Beth Hurt completes cast



Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that three-time Tony Award nominee Mary Beth Hurt will complete the cast of the upcoming Broadway premiere of Caryl Churchill�s Top Girls at the Biltmore Theatre.

Hurt (Louise/Waitress) joins the previously announced Mary Catherine Garrison (Patient Griselda/Jeanine/Kit/Shona), Jennifer Ikeda (Lady Nijo/Win), Elizabeth Marvel (Marlene), Martha Plimpton (Pope Joan/Angie), Ana Reeder (Dull/Gret/Nell) and Marisa Tomei (Isabella Bird/Joyce/Mrs. Kidd). James Macdonald will direct.

Top Girls opens at the Biltmore Theatre on 7 May 2008, following previews from 15 Apr and run through to 22 Jun 2008.

The creative team comprises Tom Pye (sets), Laura Bauer (costumes), Christopher Akerlind (lighting) and Darron L West (sound).

Mary Beth Hurt is returning to MTC after previously starring in the company's off-Broadway productions of 'Humble Boy' and 'The Day Room.' Her many Broadway credits include 'Trelawny of the 'Wells''(1975 revival), 'Crimes of the Heart (1981) and 'Benefactors' (1985) for which she was nominated for Tony Awards. Hurt last appeared on Broadway in 'A Delicate Balance' (1996 revival). Her recent film credits include 'Untraceable,' 'The Walker,' 'The Dead Girl,' 'Lady in the Water' and 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose.'
