Performers announced for ACLU and NYCLU’s Sing Out for Freedom livestream Concert
Those taking part in the November 2 concert include André de Shields and Heidi Schreck.
Ahead of next week's Sing Out For Freedom concert organized by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU), names of those taking part in the broadcast have been announced. The livestreamed concert will take place on November 2, with tickets available now.
The broadcast will include Tony Award winner André De Shields, currently starring in Hadestown. What the Constitution Means to Me's Heidi Schreck and Thursday Williams will also speak, alongside Adrienne Warren, recently nominated for a Tony for her performance in Tina the Musical.
The line-up is completed by Katrina Lenk, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Phillipa Soo, Brandon Victor Dixon, Daniel J. Watts, Ephraim Sykes, Keala Settle, Eisa Davis,Aneesh Sheth, Amber Iman, Jo Lampert, George Salazar, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Jelani Alladin, Mykal Kilgore, Treshelle Edmond, Raymond Lee, Larry Owens, Shaina Taub, Sasha Allen, Ty Defoe, L Morgan Lee, Jomama Jones, Gaelynn Lea, Mary Kathryn Nagle, Liana Stampur, Rachel Brosnahan and Kelly McCreary. They'll be backed up by Broadway Inspirational Voices, a choir dedicated to improving lives through music and service.
They'll join the previously announced Lea DeLaria, who will host the concert. Direction by is Liesl Tommy, with music direction by Jason Michael Webb.
Usually called "Stand Up For Freedom", the annual concert celebrates those who are continuing the fight to defend their liberties. For its 18th year, the concert title has changed to "Sing Out For Freedom", with the event champions the democratic right to vote. More information can be found here.
