Raúl Esparza to play Ebenezer Scrooge in Primary Stages’ ‘A Christmas Carol’
The virtual production will be available to watch from December 16.
Joining in with the Christmas festivities across New York theatres, Primary Stages will present their adaptation of A Christmas Carol online. Raúl Esparza will lead the cast of Theresa Rebeck & Erin Daley's adaptation, available from December 16 - 20.
Taking inspiration from Charles Dickens' seasonal classic, Esparza will play Ebenezer Scrooge, a disgruntled elderly man who transforms his mindset when joined by three ghosts.
Esparza is a four-time Tony Award nominee, who has been nominated in every solo actor category. He was last seen in a Broadway production in 2012, playing Jonas Nightingale in Leap of Faith. Notable credits include Arcadia, Speed the Plow, Company, The Homecoming and Taboo.
The cast will also include Mary Bacon, Abadi Bacon Leynse, Kimberly Chatterjee, W. Tré Davis David Mason, Krysta Rodriguez and Matthew Saldivar.
