When are the Tony Awards?

What time are the Tony Awards?
The 2024 Tony Awards will take place from 8-11 p.m. ET on June 16. An exclusive pre-show special, The Tony Awards: Act One, will be streamed from 6:30-8 p.m. for free.
How can I watch the Tony Awards?
The main Tony Awards ceremony, beginning at 8 p.m. ET on June 16, will be broadcast live on the CBS television network and the Paramount+ streaming platform. Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose will host.
The Tony Awards: Act One pre-show special, in which additional awards will be handed out, will be streamed on Pluto TV. Pluto TV is free for all to access without needing to create an account. Julianne Hough (Dancing With the Stars) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (Ghosts) will host.
Additionally, those local to New York can watch an in-person simulcast of The Tony Awards in Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. on June 16 and is free and open to the public. It will feature performances from Broadway talent, photo ops, and activations. Additional exclusive perks will be available to American Express cardholders.
Where are the Tony Awards being held?
For the first time in the ceremony's history, the Tony Awards will take place at the David H. Koch Theater in Lincoln Center. The 2,586-seat venue is known as the home of the New York City Ballet, and it is part of the Lincoln Center performing arts complex that also houses the Metropolitan Opera House, David Geffen Hall, and a branch of the New York Public Library.
The usual home of the Tony Awards in recent years has been Radio City Music Hall. The awards were held there from 1997 to 2010, and again from 2013 to 2015, 2017 to 2019, and in 2022. In 2023, the United Palace in Washington Heights hosted the ceremony for the first time.

Nominations for the 2024 Tony Awards were announced on April 30, and the Alicia Keys musical Hell's Kitchen and David Adjmi's play Stereophonic tied for the most nominations with 13.

Who is receiving special 2024 Tony Awards?
Numerous individuals and institutions will receive special Tony Awards this year. The 2024 Special Tony Award recipients are comedian Alex Edelman, whose stand-up show Just For Us played four critically acclaimed runs between Broadway and Off-Broadway; sound designer Abe Jacob; and hair and wig designer Nikiya Mathis.
The 2024 recipients of the Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre are projection designer Wendall K. Harrington; longtime arts administrators Colleen Jennings-Roggernsack and Judith O. Rubin; the Dramatists Guild Foundation, a charity that supports theatrical writers; and the Samuel J. Friedman Health Center, a medical care facility for entertainment professionals.
Billy Porter will receive the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award for his longtime work as an LGBT+ activist and spokesperson, including with The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and the Entertainment Community Fund.
Three-time Tony Award-winning director Jack O’Brien and five-time Tony-winning director/playwright/producer George C. Wolfe will each be honored with the Lifetime Achivement Award.
The Wilma Theater, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has received the 2024 Regional Theatre Tony Award for regularly producing excellent works. Most recently, it became known for originating the Pulitzer Prize-winning and Tony-nominated play Fat Ham, which later played on and off Broadway.
CJay Philip, founder and creative director of the Dance & Bmore theatre programs in Baltimore, Maryland, received the 2024 Excellence in Theatre Education Award.
