The Connelly Theater is an Off-Broadway venue located in Manhattan's East Village. The building was erected in the mid-1870s and originally served as an orphanage. As a performance space, the venue used to be a choir hall, and its proscenium arch and raised stage were added later.
The theatre is known for hosting independent productions. Theatre companies including Clubbed Thumb, Bedlam, Soho Repertory, Ars Nova, the SheNYC Arts Festival, and more have all mounted productions on the Connelly stage.
The Connelly Theater is closest to the 2nd Avenue subway stop on the F line. The nearest bus stop is Ave A/E 5 St on the M14A-SBS line.
