'The Pavilion' extends to the 23 Oct 2005

Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre has announced a two-week extension of its season opening production - The Pavilion, by Craig Wright at The Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre.

The limited engagement was to end on the 9 Oct 2005, but will now continue through to the 23 Oct. The show opened at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater on the 20 Sep 2005, following previews from the 9 Sep 2005.

At The Pavilion, a 100-year-old dance hall in Pine City, MN, the lives of ex-sweethearts Peter Mollberg and Kari Hermanson -- and dozens of other characters, as well -- intertwine once more to form a pattern of love and loss.

Another drama in Wright's series of Pine City plays, which include the 'Orange Flower Water' and the Helen Hayes Award-winning 'Melissa Arctic'.

The show opened to good to luke-warm notices:
"The director, Lucie Tiberghien, and her first-rate cast of three present the play with an appealing delicacy and sincerity." (New York Times); "Ultimately seems as rickety as the wooden structure providing its title." (New York Post); "He once again mines copious amounts of humor, sadness and universal truths." (Hollywood Reporter).

The cast, directed by Lucie Tiberghien, includes: Stephen Bogardus, Brian D'Arcy James and Jennifer Mudge. Miss Mudge will leave the show on the 4 Oct and be replaced by Tasha Lawrence.

The Pavilion's creative team includes:Takeshi Kata (Set DEsign), Mimi O'Donnal (costumes) and Matthew Richards (light design).
