David Patrick Kelly

David Patrick Kelly stars as King Sextimus the Silent in Once Upon a Mattress on Broadway at the Hudson Theatre from July 31 to November 30, 2024.

Kelly's Broadway career spans nearly 50 years. He made his Broadway debut as an understudy in 1975's The Rocky Horror Show and has since appeared in more than a dozen shows including Hair, Uncle Vanya, Once, Into the Woods, and An Enemy of the People.

He has an equally prolific screen career, appearing in many films by Spike Lee (Malcolm X, Crooklyn, Chi-Raq) and David Lynch's 1990 TV show Twin Peaks and its 2017 revival. He is also known for playing Luther in 1979's The Warriors and for TV shows including The Blacklist and Succession.
