Katrina Lenk stars in Company at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Broadway.
Katrina Lenk is a Tony and Grammy Award-winning actress. Her first major stage role came in 2001, when she played Yitzhak in Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the Broadway Theatre in Chicago. Her other regional credits include the roles of Grusha in Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle at the South Coast Repertory (2005), Margaret in iWitness at the Mark Taper Forum (2007), and Linda Lovelace in Lovelace: A Rock Musical at Los Angeles' Hayworth Theatre (2008) and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2010).
She made her Broadway debut as an understudy in the 2010 revival of The Miracle Worker at Circle in the Square and went on to assume the role of Arachne in Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark at the Lyric Theatre on Broadway from May 2012 through April 2013. She would then assume the role of Réza in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Once at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre from May 2013 through January 2015.
Her breakthrough stage role came later in 2015 in Paula Vogel's critically acclaimed play Indecent, which was commissioned by Yale Repertory Theatre and would go on to play La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego in 2015, the Vineyard Theatre in the spring of 2016 (marking her Off-Broadway debut), and finally Broadway's Cort Theatre from April through August 2017. Prior to Indecent's Broadway transfer, Lenk also originated the role of Dina in Atlantic Theater Company's world premiere musical The Band's Visit, which ran Off-Broadway from November 2016 through January 2017 and won huge praise from audiences and critics alike.
Lenk won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical in 2017 for her performance in The Band's Visit and also received the Dorothy Loudon Award For Excellence at the 2017 Theatre World Awards to mark her achievements in both Indecent and The Band's Visit. She shot to Broadway stardom after the Broadway transfer of The Band's Visit, which played the Ethel Barrymore Theatre from October 2017 through April 2019 and won a staggering 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, in 2018. Lenk won her first Tony Award in the category of Best Performance By An Actress In A Leading Role In A Musical. In 2019, she also received her first Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album for the original cast recording of The Band's Visit.
On screen, Lenk has appeared in minor roles in Will & Grace, Elementary, The Good Fight, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Love Is Blind, and The Village.
She returned to Broadway to take on the leading role of Bobbie opposite two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone in the gender-reversed revival of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's musical Company at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
