Broadway shutdown extends to May 2021

Performances of all Broadway shows were initially suspended on Mar. 12, 2020.

It is expected that The Broadway League will extend the shutdown of all Broadway productions. As reported on NBC New York on October 8, a further cancellation of performances will be confirmed, with shows suspended to May 30, 2021 at the earliest.

It is also expected that information on refunds and exchanges for performances to May 30, 2021 will be announced.

Currently, productions are set to resume performances over a series of dates from June 2021.

Some Broadway shows had announced reopening dates for March 2021, however these shows will now likely open with later performance dates. The Music Man, starring Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster, will now begin previews in December 2021. New performance dates for The Minutes, American Buffalo and Take Me Out are to be announced.

Broadway has not seen a live performance since Mar. 12, 2020, when all shows were suspended.
