With the news that Broadway theatres can reopen at full capacity from Sept. 14, 2021, details on upcoming productions are being released. In an article from the Wall Street Journal, Waitress could return to the Great White Way just a year after it last closed.
Broadway producer Barry Weissler said to the Wall Street Journal that Waitress composer Sara Bareilles would lead the cast as Jenna Hunterson once more. During the original run, Bareilles played Jenna for three engagements.
Further details on a Waitress revival on Broadway, including additional casting, a venue and performance dates are to be announced.
