NEWSical The Musical will play its final performance on June 17, 2019.

Newsflash! Producers of the long-running Off-Broadway production of NEWSical The Musical have now announced a closing date. The fifth-longest-running musical in Off-Broadway history will play its final performance at Theatre Row's Kirk Theatre on June 17, 2019.

NEWSical The Musical, written and created by Rick Crom, originally began previews at the 47th Street Theatre on November 23, 2009, officially opening on December 9.

Directed by Mark Waldrop (and featuring music direction by Ed Goldschneider), the ever-evolving format of NEWSical lampoons current events, headlines, newsmakers, celebrities and politicians of the day. Its rotating cast has featured a plethora of celebrity guest performers over the years and its core cast has showcased the likes of Rory O'Malley, Leslie Kritzer, Christina Bianco, Tommy Walker, Kristen Mengelkoch, Carly Sakolove, Scott Richard Foster, Amy Griffin, Perez Hilton, John Walton West, Emily McNamara, Ryan Knowles, David Foley, Wade Dooley, Dylan Hartwell, Sally Schwab, Meg Lanzarone, Erin Maguire, Sheri Sanders and Amy Hillner Larsen.

Producers have also announced that the final cast on June 17 will feature original stars Christine Pedi and Michael West, alongside longtime NEWSical favorites Susan Mosher and Taylor Crousore.
