Wishful Drinking extends run by two weeks

Roundabout Theatre Company announce a two-week extension of Wishful Drinking, created and performed by Carrie Fisher. Directed by Tony Taccone, the Broadway premiere production will now run through to 17 Jan 2010.

Wishful Drinking opened at Studio 54 on 4 Oct 2010, following previews from 22 Sep and was originally scheduled to close on 3 Jan 2010.

In Wishful Drinking, Carrie Fisher recounts the true and intoxicating tale of her life as a Hollywood legend. The daughter of Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher became a cultural icon when she starred as 'Princess Leia' in the first Star Wars trilogy at 19 years old. Forever changed, Carrie's life did not stay picture perfect.

The show opened to mostly good reviews: You're going to like it. A lot (NY Times); A perfectly pleasant trifle (USA Today); Chock-full of funny, fascinating tales (Associated Press); Packs enough laughs to satisfy. (Variety)
