Eddie Redmayne gained international fame for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything a performance that earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor. He later earned another nomination for his role as Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl and gained further acclaim for movies like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and My Week With Marilyn.
Redmayne has also appeared in many stage shows and theatre-adjacent projects, such as the 2012 film adaptation of Les Misérables as Marius Pontmercy. Two years prior, Redmayne won a Tony Award for playing Ken in Red, a role that also earned him an Olivier Award in London's West End. He won his second Olivier for playing the Emcee in Cabaret before transferring with the revival to Broadway.
